Secure electrical connector for integrated circuit cards

A box (30) consists of upper and lower half shells (32,34) which contain a printed circuit (36) equipped with connectors (38,40) at it's ends suitable for various purposes such as connecting to a telecommunications line termination (42). An integrated circuit card support (66) has pillars (101) which are inserted through holes (100) in the printed circuit (36). The support (66) receives an integrated circuit card (C) and also acts as bracing to the box (30). The card (C) enters the box (30) and the support (66) through a slit (80) in the upper half of the shell (32) and is secured by a boss (120) which engages with a cut section of the card (C). Release is effected by a tool inserted in a slit (114).
