The shaft-shaped support (1) has a bolt-shaped sharpening tool (22) at one end near one side flank. A swivel-mounted workpiece support (24) protrudes beyond the work surface. The sharpener is in the form of a flange of a T-shaped hard metal profiled piece (23). The workpiece support has two bearing flanges between which the support is held and which have inward protruding bearing stumps fitting into bearing-holes in the side of the support. At least one bearing flange has a preferably disc-shaped extension (29) acting as operating lever.
