PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out machining in high precision even at high speed by providing a fluid bearing to support a spindle. SOLUTION: A bearing member 16 is a fluid bearing so as to drive a spindle unit 12 in high speed rotation. A bearing water conduit 26 leads bearing fluid to a water channel 30 formed between the bearing member 16 and a housing 28 and supplies the bearing fluid to a bearing pad 18. The bearing fluid is discharged from the spindle unit 12, a large amount of heat generated during high speed working of a spindle is removed from the spindle, and the spindle 14 is cooled. |
