PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a pharmaceutical composition containing a zona pellucida antigen produced by a DNA recombination technology as an active ingredient, capable of imparting immunity to an individual so as not to impregnate, and useful for immunological contraceptive. SOLUTION: Three cDNA clone sequences of formulas I-III expressing the zona pellucida(ZP) antigen are obtained from a cDNA library synthesized from a poly mRNA separated from the ovarian tissue of a mammalian such as pig, rabbit, dog, cat or man and subsequently subjected to a DNA recombination technology to express a ZP protein. Thus, the polypeptide containing an antigen- determining group specific to an amino acid sequence coded by a P2 sequence of formula I, a P3 272 base sequence of formula II or a P3 484 base sequence of formula III is obtained. The protein is added to a pharmaceutically suitable carrier in an amount effective to develop the immunity. |
