PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an article holding device capable of easily and smoothly attaching/detaching an article such as a telephone set. SOLUTION: An article holding device includes a main body 10, a holder 12 provided with its one end supported in the main body 10 by a hinge so as to be rotated against the main body 10, a pair of arm members 13 and 14 provided in the holder so as to be moved in directions for coming close or moving away from each other, and a pair of guiding members 25 and 26 provided in the main body. The pair of arm members 13 and 14 include arm parts 13b and 14b for pressing an article from both sides to hold it and inclined plates 13c and 14c having slopes guided by the guiding members 25 and 26. The pair of guiding members 25 and 26 are slide-contacted with the slopes of the inclined plates 13c and 14c of the arm members 13 and 14 to bring the pair of arm members 13 and 14 close to each other when the holder 12 is moved close to the main body 10, and the article is held between the arm parts 13b and 14b of the arm members 13 and 14. |
