PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for writing with laser beam by which it is possible to simplify the process to reduce an image forming speed by half and thin out data on a subscan side through hardware by the reduced speed, at a low operating cost, in an image forming device equipped with a multibeam writing device using two laser beams. SOLUTION: This method for writing with laser beam is to converge two laser beams to the surface of a recording medium through a scan optical system and scan the medium with the converged beams and write data with two laser beam for a single frame with the help of an image forming device equipped with a multibeam writing device best suited for the above process. When forming an image at half an ordinary image forming speed, an appropriate LD light source for use is picked up by selecting between two LD light sources 1, 2 with the help of a selector 16 and data is written using either of the laser beams only, while the other laser beam is set in the OFF state. As image information is written into the recording medium as descried, it is easy to perform the line thinning-out process. |
