PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cartridge for printer in which a cartridge where the ink is not yet used up can be held at low cost during an ink supply container is recovered by coupling an ink tank removably with a chassis having an electric connector for printer and an ink passage connectable therewith. SOLUTION: An ink cartridge 12 comprises an ink tank 14 defining a chamber 62 filled with ink, and a chassis including the memory chip 20 of the cartridge 12. The ink tank 14 incorporates a collapsible bag or has a vent associated with a valve for equalizing the pressure to the atmospheric pressure when the ink is consumed and constituted such that it can be inserted into the chamber of the chassis or removed therefrom easily. A reset switch 74 for a leaf spring in the chamber 62 is closed to be connected with a memory element when the ink tank 14 is reset in the chamber 62 and delivers a signal to the memory element.
