<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polyamide which need not be mixed with a resin when it is formed into a barrier layer to liquids or gases, shows excellent adhesiveness to many resins, has excellent transparency and is useful in the production of packaging materials, especially food packaging materials by selecting a polyamide comprising specified amounts of PA-6, I; PA-6, T; (PA-6, 6) and having a specified degree of crystallinity. SOLUTION: This polyamide comprises 40-67mol, per 100mol of total monomers, PA-6, I, 30-45mol of PA-6, T, and 0-20mol of PA-6, 6 and has a degree of crystallinity (χc ) when determined by wide-angle X-ray diffractometry. This polyamide consists essentially of units derived from hexamethylenediamine, isophthalic acid and terephthalic acid and optionally contains adipic acid. It is also possible that this polyamide contains at most 5wt.% other amide monomers such as dicarboxylic acid/and or a diamine and/or amino acid and/or a lactam.</p> |
