The process starts with a planar sheet 2, either in the form of a coil 1 or in the form of a plate, which, after a preliminary tensioning process, is subjected to a stage of heating in a heater element 7, where it reaches the temperature for heat-forming the material, then being passed through a shrinker 8 which confers the desired profile on it and then through a calibrator/cooler 9 which confers the final profile on the sheet. This stage of heating and calibration/cooling may be repeated one or more times, until the internal tensions in the material are eliminated, with the aid of a second heater element 7' and a second calibrator/cooler 9'. Finally, the material is passed through a cutting station 11 in order, finally, to reach the reception and storage zone 12. <IMAGE>
