PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a excellent image free from image defect by preventing a leakage based on a break at an intermediate transfer belt. SOLUTION: This transfer device is provided with respective leakage preventive tape 50 whose volume specific resistance is >=10<10>Ω.cm, adhesive strength is >=0.5kg/25mm to the T type peeling, on the intermediate transferring belt 20, in several non-image area on either end part looking toward the moving direction (arrow R20 direction). The respective leakage preventive tape 50 provided with several base material 51 and adhesive 52, is disposed on all periphery of the intermediate transferring belt 20. As a result, the strength of the intermediate transfer belt on either end part is increased, therefore the intermediate transfer belt 20 can be prevented from the occurrence of the break on either end part even for the use over a long period.
