<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coordinate input device capable of stablely detecting coordinates even when the pen tip of a vibration input pen is abraded. SOLUTION: Time required for the arrival of elastic wave vibration inputted to the surface of a vibration transmission board 8 by the vibration input pen 5 at a vibration sensor 6 is counted and the input coordinate position of the pen 5 is calculated. When the pen 5 is held by a pen holding member 21, the degree of abrasion on the pen tip 31 of the pen 5 is detected. A driving level for driving the pen 5 is changed in accordance with the degree of abrasion of the pen tip 31 or a constant to be used for the calculation of coordinates is corrected. Thereby even when the pen tip 31 is abraded, stable coordinate detection is attained. When abrasion more than prescribed quantity is detected, a replacement message is outputted.</p> |
