<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the moving picture transmission device which allows efficient videoconferencing, etc., using a network making terminals share a band like an Ethernet and an ATM line using UBR while making it possible to speedily restart the reproduction of images on a reception side while preventing convergence from getting worse even if a transmission error occurs owing to the convergence. SOLUTION: This moving picture transmission device transmits moving picture data by intra-frame encoding(INTRA), inter-frame encoding(INTER), and last-frame repetition(FIXED). For the purpose, an encoding control part 2b is provided which makes a choice at random with specific probability and determines which of the intra-frame encoding and last-frame repetition is performed for a frame to be sent next in response to a report on a transmission error of moving picture data sent from a reception-side device 3 corresponding to sent moving picture data, so that the intra-frame encoding is not always performed in the case of the transmission error.</p> |
