PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrier for an electrostatic latent image developer giving a satisfactory image without causing carrier development even when it is applied to a developing method by which toner development is carried out under conditions of <800μm interval between a developing sleeve and a photoreceptor and <=400V potential difference and to obtain a two-component developer using the carrier. SOLUTION: This carrier is used for an electrostatic latent image developer. The 50% diameter (D50) of the vol. average particle diameter of this carrier is within the range of 30-80μm and the ratio (D50/D10) of the 50% diameter of the vol. average particle diameter to the 10% diameter (D10) of the vol. average particle diameter is <=1.8. The ratio (D90/D50) of the 90% diameter (D90) of the vol. average particle diameter to the 50% diameter of the vol. average particle diameter is <=1.8. This carrier includes <3% carrier particles each having <=20μm vol. average particle diameter, has 52-65emu/g magnetization at 1kOe and preferably has a resin coating layer. |
