<p>A universal joint for a steering apparatus comprises a connecting member (22) having a coupling cylinder (11a) and a coupling fork (12a) connected by an interposed metal bellows (21). One end of the coupling cylinder (11a) has serrations (14) on its inner surface and a split (13) between integral ears (15,16), one of which (15) has a threaded hole (17) and the other (16) an aligned through hole (18) to receive a bolt. The other end of the coupling cylinder (11a) has a first coupling cylinder portion (23) of larger diameter. The coupling fork (12a) is formed into a U-shape from a metal plate, with holes (20) in its ends, between which is a second cylinder portion (30). The end portions (29) of the bellows (21) are fitted onto the first and second cylinder portions (23,30). <MATH></p> |
