Adhesive mat stack - with adhesive barrier layer facilitating layer separation

Mat stack, is one in which each mat has a tacky surface for the adhesive removal of dirt particles from pedestrian traffic, and each mat consists of a flexible support film with an integral adhesive impermeable barrier surface across the full underside of the mat, a reinforcing fibrous web coextensive with the support film and secured to the top surface and having a pressure sensitive adhesive coating in secure engagement with the fibrous web and non-delaminating engagement with the support film. The barrier surface prevents penetration of the adhesive and consequent adhesive welding of superimposed mats during passage of traffic across the stack and facilitates easy separation of the top most sheet after clogging of the latter.
