TINE FOR MOUNTING ON SOIL-WORKING IMPLEMENT

A tine (100) for mounting on an agricultural soil-working implement (20) and which comprises: a mounting portion (120) at the upper end of the tine for mounting the tine in cantilever manner on a frame portion of the implement; a shank portion (101) projecting downwardly from the mounting portion (120); and, a tine point (106) mounted on the lower end of the shank portion (101); the tine point (106) comprising: a cutting blade (107) extending generally in a vertical plane and having leading and trailing edges (108, 109); the leading edge (108) being adapted to cut a slit in the ground during forward travel of the implement (20); the cutting blade (107) having first and second laterally projecting wing formations (110, 104) formed on the trailing edge (109); the first wing formation (110) extending to a first side of the cutting blade (107) and operative to widen the slit formed by the leading edge (108); the second wing formation extending to a second opposite side of the cutting blade (107) and being secured to the shank portion (101).
