PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improve method for terminating a metal shield of a high speed transmission cable at a termination member such as a ground plate. SOLUTION: A pair of cables 40 and 40' each having a core wire 52, internal insulator 54, metal shield 56, and external insulating jacket 58 are terminated at a ground plate 32 which is installed in an insulated housing of an electric connector 10. The cables 40 and 40' with the shields 56 exposed partially are located at the ground plate 32 where a pair of position setting arms 50a situated opposingly are extending from the two edges. The arms 50a can make deformation from the open position to the closed. During the arms 50a being in the open position, the exposed portions of the metal shields 56 are joined with the arms 50a. The arms 50a are deformed to the close position, and the cables 40 and 40' are located properly with respect to the ground plate 32. |
