Method to scan and measure periodic signals for recording voltage wave shapes

The method employs a storage capacitor (9). A scanning signal (A) is generated which is synchronous with the periodic signal (C) and has a mark space ratio which varies with time. A scanning operation is then started at an instant (t2) defined by the mark space ratio. For this purpose the storage capacitor is charged or discharged so that the charge voltage is effectively the measured value of the instantaneous voltage of the periodic signal.
