<p>The machine is used for leeks (P) which are grown in rows and consists of a mobile chassis equipped with a digging/lifting tool (6) and a gripper to take the lifted leeks. First and second (12,16) sets of conveyor belts form lengthwise channels for the leeks and are operated by separate drives (120,160). The harvester also incorporates systems (9,13) for removing the soil from the leeks' roots and trimming the roots and tops and has rollers (17) which are used to remove an outer layer of skin.</p> |
