PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming element with improved property for heat treatment having an overcoat layer with improved adhesion property to a lower layer. SOLUTION: This image forming element consists of a base body, a thermographic or photothermographic image forming layer and an overcoat layer on the image forming layer. The overcoat layer contains 50 to 90wt.% polysilicic acid expressed by the formula (wherein (n) is an integer from about 3 to about 600), 10 to 48wt.% water-soluble hydroxyl-contg. polymers or monomers which is compatible with the polysilicic acid, and 2 to 25wt.% acrylate or methacrylate latex. |
