DEVICE FOR CONNECTION OF DRILL PIPES

FIELD: drilling equipment and appliances. SUBSTANCE: this relates to devices intended for connecting drill pipes in construction of large-diameter wells by method of cross-over circulation of fluid. Lock for connecting drill pipes incorporates drill pipes with their connecting units and air supply pipes. Connecting units of drill pipes have flanges which are welded to drill pipes. Lower flange of them is made with three connecting pins which are rigidly secured in flange. Pins have inclined slots. One of them is longest and it serves as guiding in connection of drill pipes. Lower flange has two openings for passing of air-supply pipes. Upper flange has openings for special-shape connecting pins, air-supply pipes and fixing bolt. Upper flange is provided with above-located floating locking washer having three shaped slots for its displacement in inclined slots of connecting pins. It is provided with slots for passing of air-supply pipes, and with slot for fixing of locking connection after assembly. Also provided in its external surface are three cylindrical recesses which are equally distant from each other and are intended for turning by segment-type wrench as far as it will go. Located in groove made in upper part of special-shape flange is locking ring. One of two sealings rings is located in lower part of upper shaped flange, other sealing ring is seated in bore located between two flanges on air-supply pipe to prevent air escape between two shaped flanges.
