Two-sided door opener for room doors

The door opener (2) has a handle (5) which is arranged in a circular door hole (6) and can be reached and operated from both sides of the door. The handle is half-round with an outside radius equal to that of the door hole so that it can slide in the door hole and be turned about the hole centre (M) when operated. The handle may be carried by a roller bearing and when fitted at its circumference with a guide, this slots into a recess in the door opening which in turn has turning limits acting as endstops for the handle guide. The door hole may be rimmed by a covering made up of two profiles which telescope together over the thickness of the door. The handle can be locked to prevent turning and it may comprise two similar half-round parts which stand in parallel until turned relative to one another to close off the door opening. The handle movement can be transmitted to activate the door latch (4) via a toothed mechanism.
