PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce the subject compound, having high absorptivity in a near infrared region, improved in transmittance in a visible region, high compatibility with a resin and useful for a near infrared (heat ray) absorbent and a shielding material. SOLUTION: This phthalocyanine compound is represented by formula I (M is SnCl2 ; A is an anilino group in which at least one 1-8C alkoxy group is substituted at the o- or the p-position), e.g. 4-tetrakis(2,4- dimethoxyanilino)-3,5,6-dodecafluorotin chloride phthalocyanine. The phthalocyanine compound represented by formula I is obtained by reacting a phthalonitrile compound represented by formula II [A<1> is an anilino group in which at least one (substituted)1-8C alkoxy group is substituted at the o- or the p-position] with a tin halide. |
