<p>A vertical drive nut apparatus (80) includes an elongated strap (82) having an aperture (98) formed in a central portion (84), and a pair of folded legs (110, 112) extending from the central portion (84) and terminating in parallel first and second ends (86, 88) having coaxial apertures (92, 94). A plastic drive nut (100) is insert molded about the central portion (84) of the strap (82) with a threaded through bore (102) in the drive nut (100) coaxially aligned with the aperture (98) in the central portion (84) to threadingly receive a vertical drive lead screw (78). The first and second ends (86, 88) of the strap (82) are pivotally connected to a bracket (120) carried on a rotatable torsion tube (60) extending between a pair of power seat adjuster track assemblies (12, 14) to effet rotation of the torsion tube (60) and a resulting elevational change in one end of a seat upon translation of the drive nut (100) and the strap (82) by rotation of the vertical drive lead screw (78).</p> |
