PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to classify magnetic materials, such as steel cans, aluminum cans and nonmagnetic metallic materials, such as stainless steel cans, with high accuracy by classifying these cans by a stationary magnetic field generator and an AC magnetic field generator in the process of agitation by plural arrays of agitating members in a rotary ring. SOLUTION: When the wastes 6 transported by a supply conveyor 7 are charged into the rotary ring 1, the wastes 6 are agitated by plural pieces of the agitating plates 2 and are carried upward along the inside wall of the rotary ring 1. The magnetic materials, such as steel cans, are carried in the form of being attracted to the inside wall of the rotary ring 1 by the attraction force generated by the magnet of the stationary magnetic field generator 13 during the course of such movement. These materials are accepted by a transporting conveyor 11 and are ejected. On the other hand, the aluminum cans and stainless steel cans which are the nonmagnetic materials are flown downward by the repulsive force of the AC magnetic field generator, are accepted by a transporting conveyor 10 and are ejected. The glass, plastic bottles, etc., fall by gravity to the bottom of the rotary ring 1 and are ejected by a transporting conveyor 19. |
