Pipe for exhaust gas heat exchanger of motor vehicle's IC engine

The pipe (10) serves as a flow channel and consists of metal sheets (11,12) and is provided with two pairs of vortex generators (13,14) that rotate in opposite flow directions. The vortex generators are fixed directly to the flow channel wall by individual fixture points. The vortex generators may consist of metal wire, formed into U-shaped stirrups, the two ends of which are fixed to the metal plates. They may also be formed as angle-shaped wire stirrups, which with one arm are fixed to the plate, whilst the other arm runs parallel to the inner walling of the flow channel. Alternatively the vortex generators may be formed as stamped plate parts, provided with one or more projections, with which they are fixed to the metal plates. In yet another form, they may consist of several pins which are fitted one behind the other to the plate in a line running inclinedly to the channel longitudinal axis.
