Coagulation device for tissue section

The coagulation device has an endoscope working channel (11) with a proximal and a distal opening, and a current supply device with a conductor (30) for a coagulation current from a HF source to a discharge section at the distal end of the conductor. A gas supply device feeds a noble gas (argon) from a source to a chamber between the discharge section and a section of tissue to be coagulated, and a protective device at the discharge section prevents a damaging direct current flow between the discharge section and the tissue section. The gas supply device is formed by the endoscope working channel and the conductor with its end and its discharge section running through the working channel projects out of its distal opening so that gas flowing out of this opening flows into the space between the discharge section and the tissue section, while circulating around the conductor end.
