PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve productivity and characteristics when piezoelectric ceramics is produced. SOLUTION: A material is pulverized to 0.3-1.0μm average particle diameter and granulated by a spray drying method. The resultant power is press- compacted under high pressure into thin sheets having a high precision thickness by a hydraulic pressing method. The sheets are stacked stepwise in a firing vessel made of high purity Al2 O3 , etc., and a space is left between the body of the vessel and the lid until the binder in the compacts is perfectly removed and the lid is dropped to block up the space at a temp. close to the m.p. of lead. Sintering is carried out in the resultant hermetically sealed structure in which the evaporation of lead is prevented. |
