FIELD: tubes for forming bobbins by yarn winding. SUBSTANCE: tube is made by injection casting of plastic material and used for forming bobbin by winding yarn which is subjected to liquid treatment. Tube is cylindrical in shape and its side surface has closed slots for drawing together of their edges and reduction of tune diameter in yarn shrinkage. Slots in one row are arranged by steps - usually every other half space relative to slots in adjacent rows. Therefore, longitudinal edges of each slot may converge in intermediate zone. It provides for practically uniform reduction of tube cross-section when its cylindrical wall is exposed to action of centripetal pressure stemming from turns of wound yarn. Projections on long edges enter the slot to form separating member limiting some space interval. The latter governs drawing together of longitudinal edges in intermediate zone.
