<p>A tilt adjustment device for use as part of a boom stand for supporting lights, microphones and the like, or as an adaptor for converting an existing stand into a boom stand. The device includes first and second fixtures (122, 124) adapted to be coupled respectively to an upright tubular member (62) of the stand and a boom arm (20). One of the fixtures (122) includes a pair of arms (130, 132) and the other includes a boss (134) which is received between the arms (130, 132) and which has respective end faces confronting corresponding inner faces of the arms (130, 132). The fixtures (122, 124) are coupled together for pivotal movement about an axis (A) extending between the arms (130, 132) through the boss (134) for permitting tilting of the boom arm (20) with respect to the support member. A shaft (135) extends along the axis (A) and clamping washers (136, 138) are provided on the shaft (135) for drawing the respective arms (130, 132) inwardly and clamping them against end faces of the boss (134) for securing the boom arm (20) in a selected angular position.</p> |
