Novel bleaches, a method for bleaching substrates using these materials and detergent compositions containing same are reported. The bleaches are thiadiazole dioxide derived mono- and di-oxaziridines. Substrates such as fabrics may be bleached in an aqueous solution containing the oxaziridine.
