PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve dispersion stability by dispersing substantially colorless second color developing component for color developing in reaction with substantially colorless first color developing component in the presence of polyvinyl alcohol and/or modified polyvinyl alcohol and compound represented by a specific formula. SOLUTION: In the case of manufacturing coating liquid for thermal recording material containing substantially colorless first color developing component and substantially colorless second color developing component for color developing in reaction with the first component, the second component is dispersed in the presence of polyvinyl alcohol and/or modified polyvinyl alcohol and compound represented by a formula I or II. In the formulae, R<1> indicates 1-4C alkyl group, M indicates sodium ion or potassium ion, and m indicates integer of 1 to 20. In this case, electron donative colorless dye is used as the first component, and electron acceptive compound is used as the second component. 7 to 5wt.% of the polyvinyl alcohol is contained in the acceptive compound. |
