Control system for varying transmission gear-change points

The control system is used in a machine with a motor and a transmission with a torque converter arranged between them, whereby the transmission comprises predefined switching points at normal operational engine revs. The control system includes a first input signal which indicates the actual, current gear, a second input signal which indicates the number of engine revs, and a third input signal which indicates the number of revs at an output of the torque converter. A control arrangement receives the input signals and adjusts the switching points within the gearing to a predetermined minimal number of revs in response to a reduction of the number of revs of the engine.
