PRODUCTION OF GRAFT-MODIFIED POLYAMIDE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject polyamide having hydrophilicity, waterabsorbing property and improved coating property in a short time without requiring a high temperature by graft-copolymerizing a polyamide with a specific N-vinyl carboxamide under radiation exposure. SOLUTION: (A) A polyamide is graft-copolymerized with (B) a compound (e.g. N-vinyl acetamide) of the formula (R<1> and R<2> are each H or methyl) under the exposure of radiation such as electron rays orγ-rays. For instance, one face of a molded material such as a film or a sheet of the component A is brought into contact with a solution of the component B and the component B is graft-copolymerized on the face brought into contact with the solution by irradiating radiation rays from the rear side of the other face through the molded material of the component A.
