<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove a developer sticking to or remaining on a belt with a uniform and sufficient pressure, to always keep the surface of the belt clean and to reduce an image noise such as a black spot and a streak caused by a failure in cleaning, so as to improve image quality by abutting a cleaning member on the upstream side of the bisected contact surface of the belt wound on a driving roller. SOLUTION: The cleaning member 21 is abutted on the upstream side of the bisected contact surface of the carrying belt 20 wound on the driving roller 22, in a direction opposite to the moving direction of the carrying belt 20. In other words, the cleaning member 21 is abutted on the surface of the carrying belt 20 located between a virtual line L1 which links the end part on the upstream side of the contact surface of the belt 20 wound on the driving roller 22 and the rotary shaft S of the driving roller 22 and a virtual line L3 for dividing a winding angleθinto equal halves. The cleaning member 21 is abutted on the part where wrinkles and projecting and recessing parts are hardly generated, of the carrying belt 20, so that the cleaning member 21 can be abutted on the surface of the belt 20 to which unwanted toner is stuck, with the uniform and sufficient pressure.</p> |
