PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operability in performing data communication, to execute data communication with an easy key operation and also to avoid wasteful consumption of power battery. SOLUTION: In a radio communication system which connects a personal computer(PC) 2 to a PHS terminal 1 and performs data communication by radio via the nearest base station of a public line network that corresponds to the terminal 1, the PC 2 instructs the terminal 1 that is connected at the start and end of data communication to set up and release a communication state, and the terminal 1 receives an instruction from the PC 2 and performs the shift from a waiting state or power off state to a speech communication state and the return to its original state. |
