The regulation method uses a regulator (1.1) receiving a characteristic signal, e.g. the power signal, as the regulation parameter, compared with a number of further signals, together providing a signal set, for extraction of the maximum signal value for the regulator. The regulation circuit (1) may be preceded by a control circuit (2) with a comparison and selection stage (2.1) for selection of the maximum signal fed to the input of the regulator, which provides setting signals for control valves etc.
