Composite video signal generator for visual display

The generator includes an oscillator which generates a clock signal. A burst generator is provided which divides the frequency of the clock signal and switches the divided clock signal according to a first control signal for generating a burst of a composite video signal. A colour signal generator is provided for a phase shift of the clock signal according to a second control signal. The frequency of the phase shifted clock signal is divided for generating a colour signal of the composite video signal. The phase shifted angle is discriminated according to a colour. A luminance signal processor is provided which receives luminance data and which converts the luminance data in an analogue luminance signal according to a third control signal. A clock signal generator receives the colour control signal and the clock signal and outputs the first, second and third control signal and an S-signal. The luminance data which are included in the colour signal are output to the luminance signal processor. A mixer mixes the burst, the colour signal, the luminance signal and the S-signal and outputs a composite video signal.
