PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the labor of registration and the capacity of a dictionary by expressing and storing a part corresponding to an arbitrary character string with a specific symbol in a heading and a character string mixed with a Chinese character corresponding to the heading, and to convert plural similar character strings only by registering only one entry in a user dictionary. SOLUTION: A Japanese syllabary entry 10 and a Chinese character 11 corresponding to the entry 10 are stored as a pair. At the time of Japanese syllabary/ Chinese character conversion, a controlling part retrieves the same entry as the inputted Japanese syllabary, and converts it into the Chinese character 11 corresponding to the found index 10. The registration can be attained by including a variable 14 corresponding to any character string in this index 10 and the Chinese character 11. The character string except the variable 14 of the index 10 and the character string except the variable 14 of the Chinese character 11 make a pair like a normal dictionary. Thus, at the time of registering the character string including the variable 14 in a user dictionary, the Japanese syllabary/Chinese character conversion of all the character strings whose variable parts 14 are only different can be attained. |
