The lifting carriage is designed on a chassis (1), which is carried by wheels (2), and is equipped with forks (6), carried on a mast (4), in such a way as to be mobile, up and down the length of the mast. The forks extend out cantilever fashion from one side of the carriage. The carriage carries a stabiliser (7), which is also fixed on the mast, again so as to be mobile, between a position, where the stabiliser extends cantilevered, above the ground, on the same side as the forks and a position, where the stabilising element is retracted relative to the forks. The stabiliser consists of two arms, which extend on both sides of the forks.
