The travelling crane has a trolley carrying the main hoisting gear (9) bounded on either side by auxiliary lifting units (10). It is used for mill plant, and in particular to limit the pendulum movement of the load in its upper hoisted position. The load lifting unit (17) comprises a parallelpiped-shaped magnet which is guided with the aid of framework (21) which is displaced relative to the vertical central axis (20) of the auxiliary lifting unit (10) and in its lower region has guiding surfaces (22, 23) which is plan view are at right angles to one another and have surfaces which are inclined from outwards to inwards relative to the direction of lifting.
