PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To synchronize three phases using a single sensor by synchronizing a biasing signal with a common signal indicative of the rotational position of a rotor and biasing the motor phase with three biasing signals where adjacent signals have a phase shift of 2π/3. SOLUTION: Biasing signals for windings B1-B3 are generated in response to a positional signal from a single sensor. Three magnetic sectors S1, S2, S3 make an angle of 60 deg. with the rotational axis of a wheel and arranged along the entire circumference of a rotor at a constant interval. When a three- phase motor is energized with three input signals having phase shift of 2π/3, the motor is started in two cases out of three cases but it is not started in the third case. When the motor is not started, energization of phase is shifted by 2π/3 thus starting the motor. According to the arrangement, number of rotor position sensor C can be decreased to one. |
