Target seeking method for missile

The target seeking method uses a passive target seeking head coupled to an electronic steering device for the missile (1), for directing the missile onto the detected target (Z). The missile is launched at a large distance from the target and is directed along a characteristic flight path (A,B,C,D) until the target is detected, the first part (A) of which is used for detection of straight lines indicating a railtrack or road, along which the missile is guided in a second flight path phase (B). A further flight phase (C) is used for diverting the missile from the forwards movement to the final flight phase (D) directing it onto the target.
