PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve reliability against illegal use of a prepaid card, to deal with enquiry of the content of a card by a local computer at a shop the card is used, and to enable to sum up the sale amount. SOLUTION: When a prepaid card is sold, a local computer 17 at a sale shop gives a sensus register such as a card number, pass word, etc., to each card and records a sale amount. Same data are recorded in a host computer 20 at a center via a communication line 19. When a card is used at a card sale shop or a chain shop, a local computer refers the card number and the pass word to judge whether the card is allowed to be used or not. When it is judged to be allowed, the local computer controls the usable residual amount of the card and the host computer sums up the sale result by card sale shops. |
