PURPOSE:To roll products of good shapes and high quality by providing roll bending devices to respective two pieces of jounal boxes supporting both ends of upper and lower work rolls, and making upper and lower backup rolls turnable in a horizontal direction. CONSTITUTION:When upper, lower backup rolls 3, 4 are moved to the crossing position shown by (a) or (b), curving the axial line of an upper work roll 1 in the central part is made possible. The axial line curve of the roll 3 also appears symmetrically with this. When oil hydraulic load is exerted to inner journal boxes 5a, 7a, 5b, 7b by means of roll bending devices 14a, 14b, the axial lines of the upper, lower work rolls 1, 2 are curved gently at both ends. When load is exerted to outer journal boxes 6a, 8a, 6b, 8b by means of roll bending devices 15a, 15b, the rolls 1, 2 curve sharply at both ends. The control range for the deflective curving of the rolls 1, 2 is widened in this way, whereby the products of good shapes and high quality are produced. |
