PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute the read test of PROM data of a microcomputer mounting PROM in normal operation mode. SOLUTION: The mode of a microcomputer is set to a ROM-less mode (S701) and in this ROM-less mode, an external extension function is set (S705) to make an address branch to an external extension area (S706). After the microcomputer is placed in the normal operation mode (S707), a CPU fetches an instruction prepared in a corresponding address of the external extension area and reads data out of a PROM (S708). The read data are evaluated (S709 and S710) and the test is completed. |
