Free of charge switching and connection method for calls

The method involves providing a central free call number for a service provider or user via a mobile radio network or hard-wired network. The free call number is provided for all users using the free of charge automatic switching and connection unit. The destination number of an individual user is stored in a central computer or memory of the automatic switching unit and is managed using a program control. The dialling of the central free call number is transferred to a sever, especially to a speech server of the central switching unit. The server requests entering the desired destination call number. An enabling or suspension is initialised after entering the destination call number and a comparison of numbers is carried out using a computer. When an enabling is initialised a connection is set-up to a terminal assigned to the destination call number via mobile radio network or hard-wired network. An account of the service provider is charged with the fees of the call and for provision of additional services.
