A driveshaft comprising two shaft portions (1, 2) and universal joints (3, 4, 8) has an intermediate bearing assembly (15) with a rolling element bearing (18) whose inner ring (19) is held on a seat face (20) of a sliding sleeve (9) by a securing cap (28) with a securing portion (29) supporting the inner ring (19) and also having a recess (30) containing a sealing ring (31) for sealing the bearing (18). Beneath the bearing (18), the bore portion (14) of the sliding sleeve (9) is not provided with a profile for torque transmission.
