A cement free mineral adhesive (I) for the bonding of calcareous sandstone blanks (II) consists of (A) a silicon dioxide, SiO2 containing component, (B) a calcium hydroxide, Ca(OH)2 containing component, (C) a liquid component and (D) a component to control the rheology and residual water content. Also claimed are: (i) a process for bonding moulded articles, preferably calcareous sandstone blanks (II) by coating the surfaces to be stuck together with adhesive (I) and holding them together in an autoclave at increased temperature and pressure and (ii) the resulting glued article.
