PURPOSE:To obtain a simple-constitution and inexpensive classification discriminating mechanism of recording mediums by discriminating the classification of a disc with the combination of two detecting parts provided in a jacket casing. CONSTITUTION:Detecting parts 40 and 41 which discriminate the classification of a recording medium are formed into open holes having the same shape, and the detecting part 40 is changed from the open state to the close state when a detecting piece 79 is fixed in accordance with the classification of the disc, and consequently, four kinds of disc are discriminated by the combination of detecting parts 40 and 41. When a jacket casing 7 is set in a device 49, a disc 1 is held on a disc motor 57 and is rotated freely. A detecting means 70 consists of microswitches 71 and 72. If the detecting part 40 is closed and the detecting part 41 is opened, the microswitch 71 is turned on because one end 75a of a pin 75 is pressed in the direction of an arrow K, and the microswitch 72 is turned off because one end 76a of a pin 76 is inserted into the detecting part 41, and the disc 1 is discriminated as, for example, a disc only the recording in this case. |
